end of the day…
today, as I was walking out of work I told stephan that I wish I could teleport home. I waited so we could walk out together, and he asked me what kind of sound would I like my teleportation to make. Then he made a couple sounds, a bubbling futuristic sound, and an electronic humming sound. Then I thought of ringtones.
I immediately decided that my personal teleportation “tone” would be the song Frankenstein by the Edgar Winter group. it works on SO MANY levels. So when I got home, I played the song, and did an interpretive skit for my girlfriend of what me teleporting into a room would be like.
There would be all the pieces of me, in microns floating over the room and in the teleportation area collecting themselves while the guitars are just kicking. Then the retro-synth solo kicks in as they get organized. Then the drum solo, where my body starts to shift around like those little plastic slidy tile puzzles with one tile missing. Then, at the end of the drum solo, where the psycho-spacey percussion thing is happening I start to come into focus… then it gets quieter until… BLAM! I blast out of the tube with my arms out likeI own the room and the guitars are blaring.
duhduh duh duh duhduh duh daaaaah… duh duh duh duhduh.Â
listen to the song, sounds just like that. The only problem is that it’s like a 7 minute song, which means in true Toby style I’d be late. YA GOTTA MAKE AN ENTRANCE.
why change a good thing?
